Lake Poinsett is an 8500 acre lake - one of South Dakota’s largest, with a maximum depth of 22 feet. During the summer months speed-boats, pontoons, canoes, sailboats, jet skis and paddleboats are found on the waters of Poinsett. As one of the best fishing lakes in all of South Dakota, it produces a variety of fish such as Walleye, Small Mouth Bass, Northern Pike, Perch, White Bass & Catfish.
